Meeting the crew

This past week I visited my girlfriend and her family at their apartment in town. Her father had noticed a new boat pull into the port that looked unique from the rest.

When I got there he pulled out a set of binoculars and asked me what the boat looked like that I’ll be on in February. After pulling up a picture of the boat we began to connect the dots…

The hull was painted red, the master had red stripes, and the cabin was red as well, while the rest was grey. Everything matched up, but I was still unsure if it was the same one.

Then, my girlfriend grabbed the binoculars and asked if the Amundsen (the name of the boat I’ll be on) had a red logo on the front. It did. Now, we had confirmation that it was the same.

I took a picture of the Amundsen and sent it to the owner of the company I’ll be sailing with, asking if he was on it.
