Having raised a son who recently graduated college during the pandemic. He was at a loss after all the preparation, frustrated find his “career” job despite his excellent grades.
After no responses to his resume from Wall Street during the following months (since graduating from a prestigious business university) he wondered why he worked so hard and for what…
Instead, after a six month depression and series of odd jobs, he used his network (an older fraternity member offered him his job, and he’s now the #1 sales consultant at a BMW dealership). He stating little of what was learned in college was useful… other than critical thinking, and it was all about the relationships and impressions made.
I wish he would have seen something like this back then, because the path can be difficult.
