Is it the outright immoral people or it is the amoral people?
I would argue that amoral people have caused much more pain and suffering in the world than immoral people have. During the 20th century the whole world got a good look at the horrors that human beings can cause.
The problem is that people tend to look at the immoral leaders as the cause for these tragedies.
It wasn’t evil leaders like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot that massacred hundreds of millions of people combined. No. It was the amoral members of the public that took up their cause to rape, murder, and pillage ordinary people.
You see, you can trust an immoral person to be consistently immoral. Immoral people have a code of immorality or at very least they have a set of their own beliefs. Moral people have a code of morality or at very least a set of beliefs. However, amoral people have no code and no beliefs. Whenever a new leader arises these amoral people are quick to change in order to blend into their surroundings. During times of peace they seem harmless…but when times get rough they will commit unspeakably evil acts.
